Let the Battle of the Rockets Begin!
The Battle of the Rockets Competition is designed to get students interested in engineering and science with an exciting hands-on competition. The competition has multiple levels providing a continuous challenge for students as their skill levels grow. Universities, colleges and high school future engineers are encouraged to participate in the challenge of the year. Each year a new more complex event will be included in the competition. To register for this event: Register Here
The Battle of the Rockets started in 2008, with Ivan Galysh, FOGE’s Director of Aerospace. With the help of the Tripoli Central Virginia #25 with launch support, the Battle of the Rockets was originally held in Battle Field near Culpepper, VA. In 2015, launch support was moved to the Maryland eastern shore and will be provided by the Maryland Delaware Rocketry Association (MDRA). Launches are planned for the eastern shore. The Battle of the Rockets is owned and trademarked by the Federation of Galaxy Explorers.
* Grade 3-9 are invited to launch rockets to watch the excitement and launch their rockets for free. Mission Teams and investigating schools should register directly with Linda to have access to engage with the active teams and be inspired by the Challenges and Events. For more details, please email info@www.foge.org and put “BoR for Grades 3-9” in the subject.
- High School – College: Target Altitude
- High School – College: Video Payload
- Collegiate: Planetary Lander. Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews are built into the Planetary Lander event. This increases the application and understanding of the engineering design process. Our engineers, working professionals, meet with each team during each review and give feedback to improve engineering strategy.
