STEMShip Discovery Center Educational Matrix
The STEMShip Discovery Center is a hands-on mobile science center. It provides activity centers including: Engineering, Rocketry, Robotics, GeoSciences, Hydroponics, Health and more. These science centers are all designed to be the active science status of a Mission Control environment. A max of 15 students can go through the experience at a time. The duration of the experience is about 30 minutes of high impact fun and another 20 minutes of orientation to the program. From the January through the March time-frame, all expenses for this program is provided to you at no cost by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). Contact info@www.foge.org to schedule a visit from January through March. We are currently seeking funding or March forward.
The Learning concept is two-fold: first, to instill solid science foundational curriculum in a dynamic environment; second, to provide inspiration to build dreams and desires to becoming the next scientist or engineer. The educational topics covered are presented in a fun filled way that will peak learning and participation
Do you only come out during the school day?
No, we can accomodate evening events.
Or can you come for evening events?
Yes, we can with a scheduled time to meet. Since winter is the quarter for funding, I request two dates be selected… the latter date being a “snow” or weather related date.
How long is the program?
Each group of 15 will take about 1 hour to go through the program.
Is it appropriate for all grade levels?
We target grades 3-6
How many students can you accommodate at once?
15 students. The vehicle is in the shape of a rocket and is 40 feet long and only 8 feet wide.
Is there a charge for title one schools?
Absolutely not. Our goal at the Federation of Galaxy Explorers is to provide enrichment opportunities to inspire Space-Based STEM education. We do this from the funding of Corporations and the DoD. We do what we do to give back to our communities and help those who have the desire to learn about STEM careers.
