Galaxy Explorers Summer Camps

The Federation of Galaxy Explorers offers three different summer camp programs.  

Galaxy Explorers Summer Camp

Grades 3,4,5

During this one week camp children conduct hands on science projects to learn the principles of space science, Earth science, engineering, rocketry and much more, Kids build and launch rockets, space stations, learn how spacecraft are built, and conduct all sorts of fun and exciting experiments.

 

 

 

CANSAT Summer Camp

Grades 9,10,11,12

 High school kids have an intense "space experience" in our CANSAT summer camp.This seven-day experience provides participants with an intense program of satellite and rocketry development. Subjects include rocket design, satellite sensor development, orbital mechanics, etc. Galaxy Explorers then test their knowledge and skills when they launch their "satellites" on high powered model rockets and take then and interpret telemetry data. We also bring in a space professional to talk a little about careers.

 

 

Welcome to Moon Base One!

Grades 5,6,7,8

In 2004, the Federation of Galaxy Explorers released a new summer camp for kids grades 5-8. We call this program "Moon Base One". This camp adopted the theme of establishing the first permanent Moon Base.  Join is for a new exciting adventure in Moon Base One summer camp. This year promises to our most exciting yet with new activities. With many new and exciting activities, our campers will follow in the path of NASA's new direction to explore all the dimensions of being the first to establish a permanent outpost off our home planet. 


 

In Moon Base One you will learn to do the following:

 

Derive mission objectives

Conduct public relations
Plan launch activities
Design Moon Habitat
Manage lunar operations
Conduct Moon Base science experiments
Report on life in the Moon Colony

 

 

 

 

 



Galaxy Explorers 2006 summer camps have different registration procedures depending on the location.

There are two ways to register for summer camps in Virginia and Maryland:
